Job Title: Materials Controller

As a key member of our team at Meridian Business Support, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials within our production environment. Your primary responsibility will be to control the movement of materials in line with our Master Production Schedule (MPS), ensuring that we have the necessary resources to meet our production demands.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Material Organisation and Issuance: You will be responsible for organising and issuing materials to the manufacturing area, ensuring that the right materials are in the right place at the right time.
  • Material Traceability: You will maintain accurate records of all materials and finished goods produced, ensuring that we can track and trace our products throughout the production process.
  • Master Production Schedule: You will contribute to the creation and update of our Master Production Schedule, working closely with our production team to ensure that we have the necessary materials to meet our production targets.
  • Return to Vendor: You will be responsible for organising the return of faulty or incorrect materials to our vendors, ensuring that we can rectify any issues and maintain our high standards of quality.
  • Build Standard Integrity: You will work closely with our engineers to ensure that our build standards are maintained, ensuring that our products meet the required quality and safety standards.
  • Works Orders: You will generate and manage works orders for new build and repair activities, ensuring that our production team has the necessary information to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Material Availability: You will ensure that materials are available in line with our Master Production Schedule, working closely with our procurement team to ensure that we have the necessary resources to meet our production demands.
  • Shipping Documentation: You will generate shipping documentation, ensuring that our products are delivered to our customers on time and in good condition.
  • Freight Forwarding: You will book UK and export shipments via freight forwarders/couriers, ensuring that our products are delivered to our customers efficiently and effectively.
  • Customer Repairs: You will organise the processing of customer repairs, ensuring that our customers receive the necessary support and service.
  • Shelf Life Product: You will monitor shelf life product, ensuring that we can maintain our high standards of quality and safety.
  • Government Furnished Assets: You will control and report on Government furnished assets, ensuring that we are compliant with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Liaising with Suppliers and Customers: You will liaise with external suppliers and customers, ensuring that we can maintain strong relationships and deliver high-quality products and services.
  • Inventory Management: You will manage our inventory, ensuring that we have the necessary resources to meet our production demands.
  • SAP System Issue Resolution: You will resolve any issues with our SAP system, ensuring that we can maintain accurate records and deliver high-quality products and services.

We are looking for a highly organised and logical thinker who is willing to learn and take on new challenges. As a Materials Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production environment, and we require someone who is proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
