The Role
We are seeking a skilled Psychologist to join our team and provide emotional support and expert guidance to Looked After Children and Care Leavers. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing the emotional health and wellbeing of these vulnerable individuals.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate direct support to Looked After Children and Care Leavers to enhance their emotional health and wellbeing.
- Work closely with residential carers and social workers to ensure the wellbeing of children and young people in care.
- Support the implementation of the St Christopher's Therapeutic Plan.
- Provide consultative support for residential staff to develop their therapeutically informed practice.
- Help implement the Staying Close model.
Requirements
- Experience of therapeutic practice with children and young people, including groups and individuals.
- Training and experience in trauma-informed and attachment-based approaches to therapeutic practice.
- The ability to work integratively and flexibly with a range of client needs.
- Clinical accreditation with BACP/UKCP/HCPC or other professional body.
- An understanding of the support needs of residential workers.
- Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Experience of delivering psycho-education to other professionals.
