Job Summary

The Service Administrator will coordinate and organize the attendance of patients to outpatient, inpatient, and day case appointments in line with local team and Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust arrangements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all administrative processes and enquiries are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner, following agreed standard operating procedures.
  • Undertake general clerical duties to maximize all available capacity in an appropriate way.
  • Proofread clinical letters and ensure all information is secure and confidentiality of information is maintained at all times.
  • Monitor waiting times and ensure that our patients' treatment pathways, from referral to treatment, are accurate and up to date.
  • Provide excellent customer care, including communication with distressed and anxious patients and relatives, treating them with tact and empathy.
  • Assist and support other members of the Administrative team across the Department or Division, including dealing with telephone calls and resolving enquiries.
About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Pain Management Admin Team based at Heavitree Hospital. The successful candidate will be highly motivated with excellent communication skills, enjoy working within busy and vibrant teams, and be able to prioritize their workload and work well under pressure.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proven experience in dealing with service users on the telephone. They will be flexible and adaptable with excellent IT skills.

Working Hours

The working hours per week will be between [insert hours] depending on the service need. Flexibility may be required.
