Job Overview:

We Are Adam, a leading international product manufacturer, seeks an accomplished Accounts Assistant to join our UK team. This role is pivotal in processing financial information and delivering accurate insights to support business performance, cost-efficiency, and strategic decision-making.

  • Key Skills:
  • Understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience with stock control and inventory management is desirable.
  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting software (SAP highly desirable). Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a commercial mindset.
The Role:
  1. Purchase Ledger Duties: Deliver full range of duties, matching and coding invoices, obtaining necessary authorisations, reconciling supplier statements, dealing with discrepancies and processing payments.
  2. Intercompany Balances: Reconcile monthly, oversee netting procedure and provide balance confirmations.
  3. Employee Expenses: Manage employee expenses and private mileage claims.
  4. Cashbook Management: Responsibility for cashbook, ensuring accurate and timely posting of all entries, reconciling to bank statements daily.
  5. Credit Card Statements: Monitor and reconcile, keeping records of each transaction.
  6. Fleet Management: Assist with fleet management.
  7. Fixed Assets Register: Maintain register, identifying acquisitions and retirements, calculating depreciation.
  8. Sustainability Data: Identify requirements and ensure consistent record keeping.
  9. Aged Debtors Reports: Generate reports and other credit control reporting.
  10. Month-End Process: Assist with month-end process to produce monthly management accounts.
  11. Group Reporting: Responsibility for monthly group reporting of personnel and investments.
  12. Financial Insights: Collaborate with other business functions to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
  13. Financial Controls: Ensure adherence to financial controls and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  14. External Audits: Assist with external audits, statutory reporting, and tax compliance.
  15. Reporting Capabilities: Drive improvements in ERP and accounting systems to enhance reporting capabilities.

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
