Specialty Doctor in Psychiatry

Cygnet Hospital Harrow is seeking an exceptional Specialty Doctor to join our multidisciplinary team in psychiatry. As a Specialty Doctor, you will have the opportunity to progress your career to Consultant level through our prestigious CESR programme.
This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday between 9am-5pm, including 1:7 on-calls (5 weekdays on-calls and 2 weekend days on-calls). You will be based on our 12-bed male acute service, providing high-quality treatment under the direction of a Consultant Psychiatrist.
Our team is committed to delivering exceptional patient care, and we are looking for someone who shares our passion for mental health. As a Specialty Doctor, you will be responsible for assessing referrals, undertaking mental state examinations, and participating in weekly ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings.
We offer a competitive salary up to £85,000 per year (DOE), as well as generous exam and study leave to attend CPD opportunities, conferences, and educational meetings. You will also have access to our monthly CPD grand rounds, where you can meet psychiatrists from across the region and enhance your professional development.
Our benefits package includes 30 days annual leave entitlement, 5 days study leave, a study budget, and in-house CPD/peer group programme. We also offer a company-paid Life Assurance scheme covering 3x salary, contributory pension scheme, and research opportunities to include publishing in The Cygnet Journal and joining the Cygnet Research & Development Group.
We are looking for someone who is fully GMC registered, MBBS (or equivalent) qualified, and experienced within a mental health setting. You should be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, knowledgeable of mental health legislation and codes of practice, and an excellent clinical decision maker with sound judgement and ability to manage risk.
Our CESR programme will help you develop the skills you need to progress to Consultant level, and you will rotate within wards/services to gain valuable experience across various subspecialties.
