Job Title: Assistant Content Producer

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Assistant Content Producer to join our team at the BBC. The successful candidate will assist in the preparation and production of curations on the BBC Homepage, working closely with the Content Producer and Senior Content Producer.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the Content Producer and Senior Content Producer in the production of high-quality content.
  • Work effectively with other departments to gather relevant materials for proactive production of time-sensitive content.
  • Influence, negotiate, and communicate effectively within the team and with stakeholders.
  • Ensure all content is of a first-class standard and accurate, meeting audience needs and expectations.
  • Ensure output complies with BBC editorial, technical, design, and accessibility standards, and that BBC Health and Safety policy is observed.
  • Be technically proficient to the requirements of the role or demonstrate evidence of similar skills and ability to learn.
  • Participate in projects that support the BBC Homepage under the direction of Content Producer and Senior Content Producers, including the use of planning and organizational skills.
  • Multi-task and prioritize, working to deadlines.
  • Understand when to escalate.
  • Undertake administrative duties relevant to recording and monitoring fairness, balance, and copyright-related issues.

About the Role: The Assistant Content Producer will play a key role in the production of high-quality content for the BBC Homepage. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Requirements:

  • A knowledge of BBC editorial guidelines and other compliance policies, or a desire to quickly acquire this knowledge.
  • Understanding of the importance of the BBC's values in accuracy and impartiality.
  • Experience of creating high-quality content.
  • Experience of writing clear and concise material.
  • Ability to use IT proficiently.
  • Ability to develop creative ideas.
  • Ability to problem-solve and suggest effective solutions.
