Mechanical Shift Engineer Role

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Shift Engineer to join our team at Fenchurch Street in the City of London. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out daily PPM and reactive maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal functioning of our equipment
  2. Respond to emergency callouts as required, providing timely and effective solutions
  3. Operate and maintain mechanical services in line with our service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  4. Maintain all mechanical equipment within the building, ensuring it remains in good working order
  5. Repair plumbing and pipework as needed, minimizing downtime and disruption
  6. Conduct minor fabric repairs when necessary, restoring the building's integrity
  7. Procure materials and equipment for works, optimizing our resources
  8. Supervise sub-contractors as required, ensuring their work meets our high standards
  9. Collaborate with the lead engineer and account manager to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, such as health and safety regulations
  10. Respond to reactive calls in line with KPIs and SLAs, providing efficient solutions
  11. Communicate effectively with the helpdesk team and clients, ensuring excellent customer service

Requirements:

  1. Hold City and Guilds mechanical qualifications or equivalent
  2. Be able to participate in a call-out rota, providing flexibility and availability
  3. Have proven experience as a mechanical maintenance engineer, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems
  4. Have experience in shift positions, adapting to changing circumstances
