Principal Quantity Surveyor

Gleeds is seeking a highly skilled Principal Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Preston. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in the support and delivery of crucial defence-related projects.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Operate with NEC form of contract, ensuring adherence to processes and procedures for issuing works in line with contracts
  • Provide contract administration and contract advice, ensuring obligations under contract are met
  • Challenge and manage scope of changes, highlighting any commercial impact
  • Maintain awareness of key issues that can affect cost/time/quality
  • Identify potential financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
  • Conduct value engineering assessments to ensure cost-effective solutions without compromising quality
  • Ensure that all financial obligations are settled, and payments are made

About You

  • We are seeking candidates with relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, with experience in the Nuclear/Civil engineering/Engineering sectors desired but not essential
  • Experience/willing to learn about mechanical and electrical industry in an infrastructure/defence environment
  • Comfortable communicating and negotiating with various levels of stakeholders
  • Ideally be HNC/HND or Degree qualified in a Quantity Surveying/Cost Management, Construction Law, or similar/relevant discipline
