Are you a skilled Animal Management Technician looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Animal Technician to join our team for a 12-month maternity cover role with a leading biotech company in Central London.

About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to work with a reputable biotech company, contributing to cutting-edge research and development activities focused on animal procedures to assess vision in mouse models of retinal disease. You will be responsible for conducting daily animal procedures, drug administration, and other key activities as outlined below.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Perform daily animal procedures, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  2. Administer various types of medication using specific delivery methods.
  3. Collect and process tissue samples for further analysis.
  4. Manage and maintain animal stocks, adhering to relevant regulations and guidelines.
  5. Order, stock, and manage laboratory supplies, as well as arrange deliveries and shipments.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A strong educational background in biological sciences.
  • Significant experience working with laboratory animals, preferably with mice.
  • A current home office-approved animal license (PIL A, B) is necessary; PIL C is desirable but not essential.

The estimated annual salary for this position is around £42,000.
