We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to join our team at PXC. As a key member of our Data Authority team, you will play a critical role in driving the alignment of solution designs to good data management practices, ensuring positive insight and reporting outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and project architects to govern solution designs and ensure data architecture and data management principles are applied consistently.
- Act as a subject matter expert in data modelling, data design, and structure, guiding solution design to ensure alignment with data architecture blueprints and enterprise logical data model.
- Develop and enhance the PXC Enterprise Logical Data Model (ELDM), engaging architects, designers, technical staff, and business stakeholders to promote its benefits and provide training.
- Review solution data model designs and provide recommendations for alignment with the ELDM.
- Participate in project architecture governance processes, working with project architects, solution designers, and tech leads.
- Continuously promote and improve the overall performance and reach of the Data Authority through measurable metrics.
- Build productive relationships with stakeholders, including peer managers and SMEs within and outside the team.
- Contribute to the development of guidelines for data architecture and data solution design.
- Contribute to and review solution architecture and designs to ensure completeness, cohesion, and fit for purpose.
- Plan for solution data architecture within projects, identifying innovative data approaches to solve complex business/operational problems.
- Develop and maintain data standards, including the glossary, data catalogue, enterprise data model, and common data services design definition.
- Provide training and support to projects in adopting and applying the ELDM to their solution designs.
Essential technical skills include awareness of Master Data Management, in-depth understanding of data management and storage systems, and ability to design and enforce data infrastructure policies.
Soft skills include stakeholder management, strong communication and presentation skills, effective problem-solving, and continual learning mentality.
Desirable technical skills include knowledge of non-Azure Data Warehousing, specifically Netezza.
