Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated PE Teacher to join our team at Empowering Learning. As a SEND PE Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching PE to students with special educational needs in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Teaching PE to students with special educational needs
  • Class teaching of other subjects such as PSHE
  • Planning lessons and activities for whole class learning and group learning
  • Supporting students with their work in a class setting
  • Managing difficult behaviors and implementing the school behavior policy
  • Safeguarding vulnerable pupils
  • Possibly supervising on lunch and break times
  • Supporting and managing teaching assistants within the classroom
  • Building relationships with staff and pupils
  • Collecting evidence of pupils' work to support their assessments
  • Feedback to the relevant member of staff about the pupils' progress
  • To have pastoral responsibility for a group of pupils
  • Possibly leading in a subject area
  • Ensuring a team approach to education with stakeholders such as parents and carers
