Job Description

Upton GP Surgery is seeking a highly organized and dynamic Pharmacist to lead our Dispensary team as a Dispensary Manager. This is an ideal position for a Pharmacist looking to start their career in Primary Care.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of the dispensary, including liaising with GP partners and practice manager to effectively manage stock levels, ensuring adequate levels are held and minimizing wastage and expenditure.
  • Coordinate the team and support the delivery of an excellent service to our dispensing patients, ensuring the service meets the DSQS standards.
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual dispensary returns, run searches on the practice clinical system, and complete necessary audits.
  • Develop, review, and improve standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Manage the day-to-day running of a team of 9, including rotas and performance.
  • Maintain stocks, ensuring profitability and business sustainability, regularly reviewing drug supplier deals and offers, and changing procurement where needed to ensure value for money.
Requirements:
  • Team player with experience of team management.
  • Ability to work in modern premises with designated treatment rooms, minor ops, and on-site dispensary, complete with 2 robotic systems.
