About the Role

Havant and South Downs College (HSDC) is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Music Lecturer to join our team. As a Music Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional teaching, learning, and assessment to our students, fostering their success and progression.

The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for Music and a strong commitment to supporting students in achieving their full potential. You will be self-driven, creative, and able to inspire and motivate students.

The course includes classical music and composition, with opportunities to lead enrichment activities such as a jazz band and choir. A strong expertise in A-Level Music is essential for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality teaching, learning, assessment, and support, leading to excellent attendance, retention, and achievement.
  • Deliver formal scheduled teaching duties, tutorials, and student assessment.
  • Record, share, and regularly monitor student progress using College information systems.
  • Prepare learning plans, schemes of work, and keep relevant records.
  • Attend parents' evenings, marketing, and promotional events.

Requirements

  • Level 5 or equivalent Teaching Qualification, such as Certificate in Education or PGCE, or willingness to work towards this.
  • High level of specialist knowledge of the subject area.
  • At least 2 years' experience in teaching the subject area to full-time or part-time students (desirable).
  • Degree in a relevant subject (desirable).
