At SMarter Recruitment, we are seeking a skilled Coatings Technician to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a dynamic project as a Train Painting Specialist.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Industrial Painter who can apply their skills in painting trains. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in painting and an understanding of various techniques and materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and filling holes or imperfections.
  • Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using spray equipment.
  • Mix paints and other materials according to specifications.
  • Ensure that all work areas are kept clean and organized during the painting process.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in painting trains.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to the trade.
  • Basic maths skills for measuring and calculating material requirements.
  • Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for understanding equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a warehouse environment.
What We Offer

This is a full-time role with a competitive salary of £17.25 per hour, plus a £200 shift allowance per week. You will also benefit from working in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
