As a Veterinarian Diagnostic Pathologist at IDEXX, you will play a crucial role in providing diagnostic evaluation services in clinical pathology. Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Gross and microscopic examination of clinical pathology specimens and preparation of pathology reports in a timely manner.
  • Meeting caseload and turnaround expectations.
  • Providing telephone consultations to clients.
  • Consulting with and assisting other pathologists as needed to promote collegiality.
  • Partnering with laboratory personnel to ensure proper specimen processing techniques and serving as the pathologist on duty.
  • Promoting the growth of IDEXX by participating in pathologist meetings and developing professional relationships with clients.
  • Participating in quality control programs.
  • Maintaining proficiency and developing diagnostic skills through regular continuing education.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Fluency in English.
  • Familiarity with current topics and issues in clinical veterinary medicine.
  • The ability to type and use dictation equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • A service-oriented attitude.
  • The ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Computer skills.
  • Experience in a veterinary diagnostic laboratory is preferred.

Certifications

We are seeking a board-certified or eligible Clinical Pathologist (American College of Veterinary Pathology or European College of Veterinary Clinical Pathology) who can thrive in our fast-paced environment. We offer support for board eligibility candidates.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year based on experience.
