Medical Coding Specialist

About the Role
The Lodge Health Partnership is seeking a skilled Medical Coding Specialist to join our Coding/Summarising Team. As a Medical Coding Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that patient records are up-to-date and accurately coded and recorded on our Practice clinical system, EMIS Web.
Main Responsibilities
Key tasks include receiving patient information and communication, scanning and inputting daily communications to record medical information, prioritising and distributing patient information and correspondence, and ensuring safeguarding issues are raised with the Practice Safeguarding Lead or Practice Manager.
Person Specification
Essential qualifications include good secondary education, medical experience, and medical information or medical secretarial experience. Computer literacy and basic understanding of medical history and problems are also required.
Desirable Qualifications
Medical qualification, medical coding qualification, and IT qualification are desirable. Experience in General Practice or NHS Trust information team and computerised record-keeping are also advantageous.
