We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Nurse to join our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Nurse to take on a leadership role in our PICU, working closely with the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse to ensure the provision of excellent nursing care and effective management of staff and resources.
As a Senior Nurse in PICU, you will be responsible for:
- Providing high-quality nursing care to critically ill children
- Supervising and assessing more junior staff and students
- Developing and implementing education and training programs for staff
- Acting as an advocate for child and family
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Nursing qualification and experience in Paediatric Intensive Care
- Post-registration ICU course or equivalent
- Two years post-qualification experience with at least 6 months in Paediatric Intensive Care within the last year
- Ability to supervise and assess more junior staff and students
