About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our kitchen team at beBee Professionals in Clacton-on-Sea, United Kingdom. As the second-in-command, you will assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and implement menu plans and food preparation strategies.
  • Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during service.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standard and delivered on time, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Implement and maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene protocols according to health and safety regulations.
  • Contribute to the training and development of junior kitchen staff.
  • Manage inventory and order supplies as needed to maintain a well-stocked kitchen.
  • Assume leadership of the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role, with a strong track record of kitchen management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene protocols.
  • Creativity and passion for cooking with fresh, high-quality ingredients, with a focus on menu innovation.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team in a high-pressure environment, fostering a positive and collaborative kitchen culture.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required, with a willingness to adapt to changing kitchen demands.
  • Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or higher preferred).
