Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Humanities graduate to join our team as a Teaching Assistant at a well-established secondary school in Cheadle, rated 'Good' by Ofsted.

This full-time position starts in October and runs until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Humanities teachers in preparing and delivering lessons across subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Studies
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them to grasp key concepts and improve their understanding
  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive and productive learning environment
  • Support students with varying academic abilities to ensure they make progress
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of extra-curricular activities, such as school trips or after-school clubs
  • Mark and assess students' work under the supervision of teaching staff
Requirements:
  • A recent graduate with a degree in a Humanities subject (e.g., History, Geography, Politics, Religious Studies, Sociology)
  • A passion for education and a desire to support young people's academic and personal growth
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to explain concepts clearly
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and encouraging approach
