Instrument Engineer Job Description

Our client, a leading global chemical manufacturing business, is seeking an experienced Instrument Engineer to join their team at Hartlepool. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maximizing plant availability by optimizing and improving reliability performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed technical specifications for plant instrument equipment and repairs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Provide technical support to the plant team, troubleshooting and resolving complex issues related to electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Collaborate with the plant team to identify and implement reliability improvement opportunities, driving continuous improvement of plant performance.
  • Conduct thorough engineering assessments of plant modifications to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve plant reliability, including the development of maintenance plans and schedules.
Requirements:
  • Hold a minimum HND in Instrumentation Engineering or a related field.
  • Have substantial experience working in a 24/7 industrial environment, with a strong background in instrumentation engineering.
  • Be familiar with industry standards and regulations, including IEC 61508 and 61511.
  • Have experience with MOD300 and Delta V DCS Systems.
  • Be a member of a professional body with or working towards Incorporated Engineer status.
