About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist in HIV to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist in HIV, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care and support to patients living with HIV and Hepatitis B.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist care and support to patients living with HIV and Hepatitis B, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of their condition.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients, including doctors, nurses, health advisers, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, taking into account their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, including information about HIV and Hepatitis B, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to HIV and Hepatitis B care, including infection control and prevention strategies.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and care delivery.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration.
  • Post-registration experience in HIV care, with a strong understanding of HIV and Hepatitis B management and treatment options.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines related to HIV and Hepatitis B care, including infection control and prevention strategies.
