Job Title: Tree Service Supervisor

About the Role:

ODS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tree Service Supervisor to join their Arboricultural Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of over 1,000 hectares of parks, green spaces, cemeteries, and housing properties, as well as highways, with a focus on maintaining circa 100,000 trees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tree inspection plans to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date computerized records of tree details and condition.
  • Collaborate with the tree surveyor to recommend, specify, and prioritize arboricultural works.
  • Formulate works orders (Lots) according to work type, urgency, and prepare relevant documentation for tendering.
  • Ensure sub-contractors' contracts are carried out to optimum quality and meet required legal standards in conformity with the Tree Policy defined by the Oxford City Council.
  • Provide technical advice on tree-related queries received through the Tree inbox.
  • Assess the urgency and health and safety of reports received by the Tree administrator, and issue urgent work requests to contractors as necessary.
  • Develop responses to complaints, insurance claims, and HSE investigations as required.
