Electrical Engineer for HGV Body Systems

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at WJ Group Infrastructure. As an Electrical Engineer for HGV Body Systems, you will be responsible for designing and installing electrical systems for HGV bodies, ensuring compatibility between the vehicle's chassis and body, and diagnosing and repairing faults in existing electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and install electrical systems for HGV bodies, including lighting, control panels, and wiring harnesses.
  • Ensure compatibility between the vehicle's chassis and body regarding electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in existing electrical systems, ensuring that wiring and systems work safely and efficiently.
  • Perform routine maintenance on electrical components, checking for faults in wiring, switches, or control units.
  • Work with specialized electrical systems, such as refrigeration units for temperature-controlled trailers or hydraulic control systems powered by electronics.

Requirements:

  • Self-motivated and a good time keeper.
  • Must have a good understanding of plant and vehicle electrical systems.
  • Must have demonstrable experience in manufacturing and HGV Body Electrical engineering/fitting.
  • Be a good team player and willing to undertake other duties as and where required.
  • Good practical ability working to high standards for new electrical installations.
  • Knowledge of electronic central units would be an advantage but not essential.
