Job Title: Head of Tax Policy

At Marc Daniels, we are seeking an experienced Tax Policy Director to lead our European Tax Team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing tax strategies that align with our business goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a small team of tax professionals in the European Tax Team, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of tax projects.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies that minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business decisions.
  • Manage tax provisioning for European entities, including preparation and review of tax provisions for quarterly US GAAP reporting.
  • Liaise with external auditors and advisors to complete and review tax returns and associated tax issues.
  • Coordinate global tax advisory or restructuring projects, including assistance with accounting, legal, and tax implications.
  • Manage legal entity rationalization projects in Europe, including working with external advisors and internal finance teams.
  • Assist in maintaining appropriate tax governance frameworks, including SAO, CCO, tax strategy, and SOX internal controls for tax processes.
  • Participate in tax audits and interactions with tax authorities within Europe.
Requirements:
  • Post-degree Accounting/Tax qualification, such as ACA, CA, ACCA, or CTA.
  • Big 4/Top 10 Accounting Firm experience, and experience within a large multinational is a plus.
  • Significant tax accounting experience under IFRS (and US GAAP is a benefit).
  • Experience of UK/European tax legislation is a plus.
  • Ability to speak English; other European language skills would be advantageous.
