Quality Technician Job Description

We are seeking a Quality Technician to join our team at Pertemps Gloucester. As a Quality Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards within a top-tier production environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conducting technical and visual inspections of parts to identify defects, ensuring manufactured and inbound products meet specifications.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and instructions to fully understand product requirements.
  • Keeping precise records on all non-conformances and defects, processing returns as necessary.
  • Managing calibration equipment and maintaining a calibration register.
  • Collaborating closely with Quality Engineers to report issues and provide feedback on process improvements.
  • Meeting face-to-face with customer quality representatives during inspections and ensuring adherence to GDPR and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Taking on additional duties and tasks across the business as needed, contributing to continuous quality improvement.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience as a Quality Inspector or in a similar position within an electronics-based manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic/electrical components and cabling.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, use test and measurement equipment, and document findings accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of working independently or as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office for data documentation and reporting.
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610/IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards, DEF-STANs, and calibration equipment (preferred).
  • A DBS/Security Clearance is required for this role.
