Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Surveyor to join our Lease Advisory team at Hartnell Taylor Cook LLP. As a Senior Surveyor, you will play a key role in providing expert advice on lease advisory services, including valuation, rent reviews, and lease renewals.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of landlord and tenant legislation, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills. You will be responsible for reading and summarizing leases, inspecting and measuring properties, and collating evidence for advisory work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reading and summarizing leases
  • Inspecting and measuring properties
  • Collating evidence and compiling reports for advisory work
  • Negotiating rent reviews, lease renewals, surrenders, and re-gears on behalf of landlords and tenants
  • Preparing reports for 3rd party referrals
  • Preparing heads of terms for lease renewals
  • Ongoing monitoring and progressing of instructions through liaison with instructed solicitors
  • Assisting senior colleagues as necessary

Requirements:

  • Experience of working within a lease advisory department
  • MRICS qualification preferable
  • Good understanding of landlord and tenant legislation
  • Ability to plan and prioritize workload to ensure timely completion of tasks/instructions
  • Results-driven and highly proactive
  • Good degree of analytical skills ability
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Full, clean driving licence essential
