Occupational Health and Safety Professional

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled HSE Manager to support our manufacturing site in Wrexham. You will lead efforts to ensure compliance, promote best practices, and drive a strong safety culture across the site.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Foster a proactive HSE culture by encouraging all employees to prioritize safety and environmental practices.
  • Manage and maintain HSE Management Systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001) to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and implement effective control measures to mitigate potential hazards.
  • Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics, analyzing trends and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with plant leadership on safety initiatives and provide guidance on new equipment, projects, and processes.
  • Lead incident investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Oversee safety training programs and ensure all employees are properly informed of their HSE responsibilities.
  • Represent the site during interactions with external regulatory bodies, auditors, and stakeholders.
  • Chair regular HSE committee meetings and participate in cross-functional teams to enhance safety initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a similar HSE role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Formal HSE qualifications, such as a NEBOSH Diploma, Environmental Management Certificate, or IEMA Certificate.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
