Section Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee engineering activities for a designated section of the HS2 project, ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with technical specifications, project plans, and relevant standards.
- Liaise with site managers, subcontractors, and technical teams to resolve issues and drive the progress of works, maintaining high-quality standards and adhering to health & safety regulations.
- Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and construction phase plans, providing technical support and guidance to junior engineers and site staff.
- Monitor progress, quality, and safety standards, ensuring compliance with HS2 guidelines and health & safety regulations, and report on progress to senior management.
- Coordinate the ordering and delivery of materials in line with project timelines, and conduct regular inspections, surveys, and quality checks to ensure engineering excellence.
Requirements:
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, with proven experience in a Section Engineer or Site Engineer role, ideally on large-scale infrastructure or rail projects.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, design, and engineering practices, with knowledge of relevant health & safety legislation and procedures.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage site teams effectively, and proficiency in using engineering software (AutoCAD, etc.) and Microsoft Office.
- CSCS card holder and driving license, with access to a car.
