About the Role
This is an exceptional opportunity to further your career as a Senior Civil/Structural Design Engineer, delivering quality engineering solutions and designs for commercial and industrial development projects that meet and exceed client expectations. You will work closely with the team Director and support the project lead in managing day-to-day design/drawing production to assist in the technical delivery of projects.
Main Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the team, delegate tasks, and communicate effectively to achieve project objectives
- Mentor junior colleagues, provide technical advice and guidance to ensure high-quality design output
- Attend and contribute to project/client meetings to discuss project progress and requirements
- Assist with site inspections and surveys as required to ensure accurate data collection
- Undertake design tasks based on expert technical knowledge to deliver innovative solutions
- Oversee and maintain high-quality technical design output, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations
- Establish and maintain good relationships with external project team members and clients to ensure effective collaboration and communication
- Recognize and manage cost/time and budget implications, supporting in preparing fee proposals to ensure profitable projects
- Produce detailed technical output using design models and expert knowledge to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Validate design models and calculations, contributing to technical specifications and reports to ensure high-quality output
Requirements
- Relevant degree (ideally an accredited Masters Degree with ICE/I StructE) in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent Level 6 qualification
- Ideal Chartered or Incorporated with relevant professional body or working towards Chartership
- Ideal minimum of 4 years post-graduate experience in civil or structural design engineering
- Competent in relevant drawing, modeling, and experienced in applying relevant design software
- Strong technical knowledge of relevant legislation and standards
- Good commercial awareness and project management skills and experience
- Manage continuous professional development and stay updated on legislation to ensure professional growth
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with excellent written and verbal communication skills
