Career Opportunity

Southern Water is seeking a highly skilled Treasury Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will support the Group Treasurer in all areas relating to funding, risk management, debt investor relations, and ESG reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Debt Capital Market activity, including negotiation and documentation, compiling investor presentations, and managing investor queries.
  • Manage relationships with banks, corporate advisors, auditors, and other market professionals.
  • Support bank facility negotiations, monitoring lender covenants, completing associated reporting, and ensuring general compliance with lender credit agreements.
  • Manage the reporting required under any ESG/sustainability linked debt issuance.
  • Execute FX, Interest Rate, and Inflation Risk management instruments, while contributing to setting Group strategy on the same.
  • Assist with preparing board management papers.
  • Assist and on occasion deputise for the Group Treasurer where necessary.

About You

We are looking for someone with previous experience of the full "treasury toolkit". In addition:

  • You will be a qualified AMCT (an accountancy qualification would also be very beneficial).
  • Have strong understanding of and experience in financial markets and securitisation structures ideally in a capex intensive business such as utility/infrastructure/real estate.
  • Have proven ability to work within a business to orchestrate complex workstreams and meet tight deadlines.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills – proven ability to apply these skills to complex financial situations.
  • You will have excellent communication skills, be credible and confident in front of senior stakeholders both internally and externally.
