General Practice Nurse Position

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate General Practice Nurse to join our dynamic team at Catshill Village Surgery.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing primary care services to our patients and assisting in the delivery of clinical care within our practice.
Main Duties of the Job
- Support the Nurse Manager, maintain stock of waiting room leaflets, ordering.
- Administering medications and injections as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Providing health education and counselling, clinics to patients on a variety of health-related topics.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with practice protocols.
- Collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive care to patients.

Job Responsibilities
- Conducting general nursing duties such as:
- Wound care
- Immunizations including childhood and travel vaccinations
- Health screening
- QOF
- ECG recordings
- Assisting with minor surgery and coil fittings
- Depo injections and pill checks
- Requesting pathology test, for example urine culture, swab
- Testing urine samples
- Support the Nurse Manager, maintain stock of waiting room leaflets, ordering.
- Attend practice meetings when required.
- An opportunity to work out of hours, extended access etc.
- Administering medications and injections as prescribed by healthcare providers
- Assisting physicians during clinical procedures and examinations
- Providing health education and counselling to patients on a variety of health-related topics
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with practice protocols
- Collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive care to patients
- Manage own workload in a manner that maintains and promotes quality
- Liaise and support the nurse manager on all professional nursing issues.
- Ensure all items of equipment are maintained in good order, and ensure that all procedures for reporting hazards or unsafe equipment are known and understood
- Participate in developing, implementing and monitoring policies, procedures and protocols.
- Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse qualification with a valid nursing license NMC
- Maintain own professional and personal development in accordance with the NMC Code (2008), standards and professional guidelines.
- Experience in chronic disease management desirable diabetes, respiratory
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Understanding of practice contracts and SNOMED coding
- Strong IT skills and knowledge of clinical systems such as: EMIS Web, Docman, AccuRx and ICE.
Experience
- Previous experience working within a nursing team
