As a seasoned professional in the renewable energy sector, we are seeking an experienced Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) specialist to join our team at ManpowerGroup. This exciting opportunity offers a competitive salary based on experience, ranging from £45,000 to £55,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and industry expertise.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing energy storage systems, ensuring high performance and safety standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and warranty repairs on energy storage systems.
  • Performing system software and firmware upgrades.
  • Monitoring system performance and analyzing operational data.
  • Providing remote diagnostics and phone support to customers.
  • Managing spare parts inventory and overseeing equipment at BESS sites.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and performing risk assessments.
  • Maintaining accurate records, including timesheets, vehicle checks, and daily job logs.
  • Collaborating with system engineering teams to enhance product development and improve field operations.

We are looking for individuals with electrical or electro-mechanical qualifications, experience in electrical or multi-skilled maintenance, and proficiency with IT tools such as Word, Outlook, Excel, and troubleshooting software. Familiarity with working safely on-site, adhering to local regulations, and willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays and occasional international trips, are also essential.

Preferred qualifications include hands-on experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), knowledge of HV/LV power electronics, inverters, converters, and transformers, HVAC training and F-Gas qualification, strong understanding of IT systems, networking protocols, and MODBUS/TCP, test & inspect qualifications, and familiarity with BS7671. HV authorized person certification is also desirable.
