Glasshouse Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the role of Glasshouse Assistant - Horticulture. As a key member of the Horticultural and Controlled Environments team, you will play a vital role in supporting the science community through exceptional horticultural services.

Responsibilities will include providing expert plant care, operating irrigation systems, and applying innovative techniques to address horticultural challenges. You will also contribute to maintaining facilities at optimal levels, ensuring they are ready for new plant material. Cleaning the plant growing facilities and associated areas will be a significant aspect of this role, adhering to high standards expected by the Institute.

The position offers a fixed-term contract for 3 years, with a competitive salary of £22,011 per annum (37 hours/week), dependent on experience. Weekend watering duties, typically 1 in 5 weekends, and covering site closures during non-working hours are mandatory. Overtime payments will be made in accordance with Rothamsted Research policies.
