**Job Summary**
Gwynedd Council is seeking a highly skilled Data and GIS Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Environment and Climate Change Team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing spatial data management systems to support our operations.
Key Responsibilities**
- Design and develop spatial data management systems to support our operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS data into financial and operational IT systems.
- Analyze geo-referenced datasets to produce insightful reports for senior management, facilitating strategic decision-making.
- Conduct data cleansing, maintenance, and analysis of asset inventory datasets related to our strategic road network.
- Implement solutions using industry best practices, ensuring the future-proof development of spatial IT systems and the security and confidentiality of sensitive data.
- Provide support to internal and external teams in IT solution development and deliver objectives within agreed timelines and budgets.
Requirements**
- Advanced understanding of GIS platforms, tools, and analysis.
- Thorough understanding of data security.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and creative skills.
- Experience of training staff to use specialist IT and data management systems.
- Knowledge of highway legislation in general.
Language Requirements**
- Listening and Speaking – Entry Level
- Able to pronounce the names of places and people correctly.
- Able to follow instructions and understand simple conversation through the medium of Welsh and English on familiar matters and respond to simple requests for information.
Working Environment**
The post is to be based within the NMWTRA Environment and Climate Change Team, and the purpose is to continually improve the end-users' use and management of spatial data predominantly within this team, although with the requirement to also work across all NMWTRA services, Partner authorities, and other stakeholders.
