Groundworker Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Groundworker to join our civils client in Kent, with projects throughout South East England. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a minimum of 3 years proven experience in groundworks, and a commitment to high quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform various groundwork tasks, including excavation, site preparation, drainage, and foundation work, as well as operating heavy machinery and equipment.
  • Engage in ground duties alongside machinery operation to ensure comprehensive completion of tasks.
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards, adhering to all safety regulations and protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other trades on site to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Read and interpret site plans and specifications to complete work accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and organized worksite, ensuring tools and materials are managed properly.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years in groundworks with extensive experience in underpinning.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills are a significant bonus.
  • Strong proficiency in all aspects of groundworks, with the ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time and resources to meet project deadlines.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and enforcing safe protocols.
  • Valid UK Driving license and reliable transportation preferred.
  • SSSTS qualification preferable: CSCS Card qualified. First Aid at work certification is a plus.
  • 2 professional references
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK
