Astute People is partnering with a leading power company to recruit an electrical engineer for their CCGT site in Plymouth. The role comes with a salary of up to £70,000 + benefits package.

Job Description

The HV Electrical Engineer will be responsible for managing the integrity of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems onsite, including generators, transformers, motors, and control systems. This includes collaborating closely with the EC&I Support Engineer and EC&I Graduate Engineer to distribute responsibilities and ensure high levels of availability and reliability.

The ideal candidate will have a degree-qualified background in electrical engineering and experience working on high-voltage systems in heavy industrial settings. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to changes are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Managing electrical systems, generators, and control systems
  • Collaborating with other engineers to ensure high levels of availability and reliability
  • Planning and executing electrical inspections activities during scheduled outages
  • Developing a long-term planning view to manage assets through station life and system obsolescence
  • Ensuring correct maintenance plans are in place for electrical systems
