The Public Cloud Engineer will design and implement cloud architecture on AWS, GCP, and Azure, ensuring the necessary infrastructure for application hosting in public clouds using Citi's engineering processes and best practices, emphasizing automation and security by design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create foundational infrastructure for public clouds using automation tools on AWS, GCP, primarily Terraform and associated HashiCorp tools.
  • Design and create tests for infrastructure deployment using Terratest and other tools.
  • Collaborate with the pipeline team to ensure end-to-end automation of deployment.
  • Evaluate compliance with regulations and policy by implementing accurate requirements traceability and verifiable security controls.
  • Implement cloud network services to enable fast, resilient, and secure hybrid cloud environments.
  • Develop, share, and enforce engineering best practices using a modern software development life cycle (SDLC) approach that enables CI/CD and emphasizes automation, auditability, automated testing, and infrastructure/policy as code.
  • Provide technical leadership in the design of complex cloud systems.
  • Promote cloud-native solutions.
  • Drive client satisfaction by identifying and developing product and process improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance of solutions.
Requirements
  • An undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Hands-on experience developing software using languages such as Golang, Java, Kotlin, Python, C++, or Ruby.
  • Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design and Event-Driven Architecture.
  • Experience working in distributed, containerized cloud-based environments using Azure/AWS/GCP.
  • Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture applications and cloud-based services.
  • Experience with modern SDLC tools, branching strategies, and the ability to develop and enforce CI/CD practices.
  • Experience working with Linux/UNIX and Docker.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as an AWS, GCP, or Azure Solutions Architect. Other cloud-related certifications would also be beneficial, particularly cloud security certification.
  • Experience with Kubernetes.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Harness or Jenkins.
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development and automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience working with any design frameworks.
  • Developer-level operations proficiency, particularly cloud networking.
