AWE Plc is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Professional to join our Blast Damage Assessment Team. As a member of this team, you will work with a highly experienced multi-disciplinary team to analyze the effect of blast waves on buildings and infrastructure.

In this role, you will participate in research and development of appropriate tools to predict the response of structures subject to blast loading. This includes running and developing high-fidelity structural models as well as reduced-order models. You will also utilize state-of-the-art supercomputers to understand complex blast effects through fluid dynamics simulations and structural analysis.

The estimated salary for this position is between £36,000 - £44,000 per annum, depending on your suitability and level of experience. We offer a range of benefits including a 9-day working fortnight, market-leading contributory pension scheme, and family-friendly policies.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a degree or equivalent level of experience working in a relevant STEM area. You should also have non-linear static and dynamic analysis skills, structural design knowledge to industry standards, and experience in finite element modeling including explicit dynamics and high-strain rate effects. Additionally, seismic analysis of buildings, geotechnical engineering, analytical or experimental research methods, and an understanding of blast engineering and protective structures would be beneficial.
