Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team in Barnsley. As a key member of the engineering team, you will assist in maintaining site electrical standards and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive CI initiatives focused on electrical and automation aspects.
  • Support and train engineering teams on maintenance and fault-finding activities.
  • Custodian of electrical documentation, drawings, and software backups to agreed site standards.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to maintain site compliance against electrical standards.
  • Work with the maintenance planner to schedule electrical projects.
  • Ensure correct electrical critical spare parts are held and consignment stock is maintained.
  • Supervise engineers and outside contractors.
Requirements
  • Recognised electrical/automation apprenticeship.
  • Minimum HNC level qualification in electrical/controls discipline or equivalent.
  • Advanced PLC skills - Allen Bradley (Rockwell Logix).
  • Experience with Allen Bradley servo drives, Inverters, and Network controls.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Understanding of control systems and ability to optimise them.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
