Software Regulatory Counsel Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Regulatory Counsel to join our HCLTech legal team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in software law, specifically with software development, licensing, and distribution.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide expert advice on software-related regulatory matters, including compliance with data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), competition laws, and export controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective strategies for managing software development risks, ensuring timely completion of projects within budget and scope.
• Analyze and mitigate potential regulatory risks associated with software distribution, ensuring compliance with global software and technology specific law and regulation.

Requirements:
• 10+ years of experience in software law, preferably with significant experience working with software development teams and creating software licensing agreements.
• In-depth knowledge of software development, licensing models (e.g., SaaS, PaaS), open-source software compliance, and product lifecycle management.
• Strong understanding of data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and export control laws.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges quickly.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Estimated salary: $160,000 - $220,000 per year.
