We are looking for a highly experienced Construction Contract Review Expert to join our UK Infrastructure business, working within our specialist Cost Assurance team. As a Consultant, you will play a critical role in reviewing and scrutinising actual incurred costs, driving supply chain improvement and efficiency for various major programmes and projects.

About the Role

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering successful Cost Assurance commissions by leveraging expertise in construction contracts and cost management.
  • Collaborating with teams to provide guidance and support to junior members.
  • Contributing to the development of the service line by participating in bids and refining internal training and information about the service.
Main Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing construction contractor systems, controls, and processes to provide insights into their methods of operation.
  • Analysing and understanding complex construction contracts to ensure accuracy and entitlement to costs.
  • Planning financial audits by considering our Clients' objectives, risk areas, the supply chains' structure, policies, and processes.
  • Performing data testing using smart techniques and tools such as data visualisation and trend/pattern analysis.
  • Fostering high-quality working relationships with clients and those being reviewed, built on trust and professionalism.
  • Assisting in maintaining internal systems to ensure compliance with business processes regarding commission and financial management.
Requirements and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess or have a sound understanding of the following skills and qualifications:

  • Data analysis - ability to review and draw insights from large quantities of data in various formats.
  • Time management - working effectively in a team environment and handling variable workloads through peaks and troughs.
  • Assessment of accuracy and entitlement to costs - e.g., certification of application for payment or review of invoices.
  • Report writing - communicating complex messages succinctly to maximise impact.
  • Construction industry technical matters - such as disallowed cost areas, calculation of pain/gain amounts, etc.
  • Contract Management - NEC3 (Option C, E) preferred.
