We are seeking a highly skilled Beverages Packaging Technologist to join our team at Questech Recruitment Ltd.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and introducing new packaging solutions within our factory, ensuring compliance with company and external standards and policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead development projects from concept to industrialization, focusing on line performance, cost efficiency, on-time delivery, and product quality.
  2. Contribute to significant investment projects in the factory, providing detailed input to key project stages within the gate approval process.
  3. Provide packaging input within the AGs, proposing and evaluating the best packaging alternatives for new products and improvements to existing products.
  4. Organize and document production trials, including machinability, shelf-life, storage handling, laboratory, and transport tests for validation of new packaging and changes in specifications.
  5. Contribute to the optimisation and improvement of current products and processes within the factory, using local business and supply situation.
  6. Develop and maintain the competencies required for packaging knowledge within the area of expertise and as per the job position.
  7. Act as the link between Market Packaging Manager, R&D, and Factory Operations, maintaining contact with R&D and other AGs within the packaging category.
Requirements:
  1. Experience in a similar role, with a PIABC Level 3 Certificate in Packaging Technology or a similar Packaging related qualification.
  2. Working in a fast-moving, complex environment requiring flexibility and agility in managing priorities and stakeholders, preferably with a factory background.
  3. Managing multiple development projects from concept to launch.
  4. Experience in influencing projects and business strategies.
  5. Demonstrate project management skills.
  6. Fundamental understanding of the science and engineering associated with packaging substrates used within the Waters product portfolio with relevant academic qualification.
  7. Working knowledge of manufacturing, QA, and supply chain quality systems, including the company Food Safety and Quality Management system.
  8. Detailed understanding of packaging Safety, Quality, and Compliance requirements.
  9. Understanding of manufacturing performance indicators.
  10. Understanding of related functions and their roles.
  11. Packaging materials and process awareness, including knowledge of materials, production processes, conversion, and suppliers.

  2. Proactive training and coaching capability to enable knowledge transfer to peers and operators.
  3. Keeping abreast of knowledge on technical advancement and developments within the area of expertise.
