Job Opportunity: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Tilbury. This is a full-time role with a temporary to permanent contract, offering excellent opportunities for professional development and growth.

About the Role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting both teachers and students, leading small group interventions, and delivering lessons when required. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the teaching and learning within the classroom, working closely with the class teacher.
  • Leading small group interventions and providing one-on-one support when necessary.
  • Delivering lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring consistency in learning.
  • Assisting in the preparation and adaptation of learning materials.
  • Providing pastoral care and support for students, helping them develop social and emotional skills.
  • Monitoring and reporting on student progress to both the teacher and senior staff.
  • Fostering a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in a similar HLTA role, although not essential.
  • A strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Relevant HLTA qualifications or equivalent.
