The Recruitment Group is working with a family-run business in the commercial flooring industry, supplying goods and tools across the UK.

Purpose of the Warehouse Manager Role:

Our client is seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee warehouse operations and ensure efficient handling of goods. The ideal candidate will have experience in shipping, receiving, and warehouse management, with strong leadership skills to supervise the warehouse team effectively.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all sales orders are dispatched as quickly as possible while collections are ready for customers before arrival.
  • Implement stock control systems to ensure sufficient stock levels at present and forecast future needs, including placing stock orders with suppliers and using forecasting features within the systems.
  • Conduct regular stock takes to ensure stock levels are correct and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Process returns in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency.
  • Oversee the warehouse team and delegate tasks accordingly.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations, including taking in deliveries, pick/packing, and operating the trade counter.
  • Manage waste management and maintain a tidy and organized warehouse environment.
  • Liaise with couriers for collections and discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the warehouse.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in warehouse management, with a solid understanding of supply chain processes.
  • Experience in a flooring/trade/distribution background is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Orderwise software and/or other warehouse management systems.
  • Strong supervisory skills to lead and motivate a team effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Knowledge of transportation management systems and their integration with warehouse operations.
