**About the Role:**

We are seeking an experienced Autism Diagnostic Specialist to join our Children's Autism Assessment Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist diagnostic autism assessments for children and young people aged 2.4 to 18 years across Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire.

This is a part-time position, working 22.5 hours per week, with a salary of £37,338 - £44,962 per annum, pro rata. As a member of our small clinical team, you will deliver specialist diagnostic autism assessments in school settings, with some clinical appointments in clinics and health hubs.

You will gather and analyse information, conduct direct observations, and complete assessments. You will also provide clear, timely feedback to schools, families, and young people about the outcomes of the assessments, both verbally and in written reports.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • To provide specialist diagnostic autism assessments for children and young people on the Autism assessment waiting list.
  • To share clear, timely, and appropriate feedback to schools, families, and children and young people about the outcome of the assessment.
  • To work in a small clinical team, seeking supervision and engaging in liaison with other agencies (e.g., education, social services) and professional groups as required.

**Requirements:**

  • A health professional or qualified teacher qualification.
  • Experience of working with children and young people with autism.
  • Ability to travel to different bases/settings across BNSSG when required.
