Critical Care Nurse - Cancer Speciality

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Critical Care nurse to join our team at The Christie. As a Critical Care nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in our cancer speciality unit.

About the Role

This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate nurse to work in a dynamic environment. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care, working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

As a Critical Care nurse, you will have extensive experience in critical care settings and hold a post-registration certificate in critical care. You will also have a strong understanding of cancer care and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Patient Care: Assess and prioritise the needs of critically ill patients, ensuring that they receive timely and effective care.
  2. Documentation and Communication: Accurately document patient care and maintain open communication with colleagues and families about patient progress and concerns.
  3. Education and Support: Provide educational support to patients and families, enabling them to participate in their care and make informed decisions.
  4. Research and Evidence-Based Practice: Use relevant research outcomes to inform nursing practice, ensuring that patients receive evidence-based care.
  5. Safety and Quality: Maintain safe practice standards, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and minimising the risk of errors.
Requirements
  • RGN Level 1 or 2
  • Degree, Diploma, or equivalent in nursing studies
  • Post-registration certificate in critical care
  • Extensive experience in relevant speciality
  • Managerial experience
