About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Special School near Guildford. As an SEN TA, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of special educational needs, particularly Autism and ASD.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in delivering tailored educational programs to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Manage and respond to challenging behaviour using effective strategies and techniques.
  • Provide personal care to students, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes student growth and development.
  • Collaborate with the educational team, parents, and external professionals to support student development and progress.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with young people with challenging behaviour is essential.
  • Ability to provide personal care when necessary.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.
  • Being a driver is preferred due to the school's location.
