We are seeking an experienced Engineering Operations Manager to join our Capital Maintenance Projects team at Thames Water. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering large-scale capital projects, providing MEICA and Civil engineering construction solutions for wastewater, water production, waste, and water network functions.
Key Responsibilities- Project Delivery: Ensure the successful delivery of all capital projects to budget, with a focus on managing turnover and meeting forecasted targets.
- Construction Management: Oversee the delivery of all construction projects on the program, ensuring 100% compliance with client specifications and corporate standards.
- Procurement and Labour Management: Manage the procurement process and direct and indirect labour requirements to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and develop a multi-disciplined team of Project Managers and Project Delivery Engineers, reviewing performance and monitoring resource mix to meet predicted workload.
- Commercial Management: Ensure effective flow and input of commercial information to meet financial deadlines, including managing client site requirements and minimizing impact on operational functionality.
- Regulatory Compliance: Deliver all projects within legislative and regulatory requirements, including Health & Safety, Environmental compliance, and HR responsibilities.
- Health and Safety: Ensure Health and Safety is at the heart of everything, developing a strong Health and Safety culture and maintaining ISO 9000, 14000, and 18000 business systems.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage multiple stakeholders, developing sustainable, long-lasting relationships across internal business and supply chain areas.
- Proven Track Record: A proven track record in delivering site-based construction projects within the water industry.
- Operational Management: An operational management background in water or a similar process-related industry.
- Project Management Qualification: Hold an industry-recognised project management qualification.
- Health and Safety Qualification: Hold a relevant Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH or similar).
- Commercial Experience: Sound experience in managing commercial budgets and leading a large team in person and remotely.
- Leadership Style: Demonstrate an inclusive, motivational leadership style and strong interpersonal skills.
- Problem-Solving: Have an innovative and proactive approach to problem-solving and a tenacious and resilient personality.
- Transportation: Hold a full UK driving licence and have your own transport.
- Competitive Salary: A competitive salary between £62,000 - £74,000 per annum.
- Annual Leave: 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with length of service (plus bank holidays).
- Car Allowance: A car allowance of £5,800 per annum.
- Annual Bonus: An annual bonus opportunity.
