Job Description

Purpose:

To deliver a cost-effective supply base and meet governance and availability requirements.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a cost-effective supply base strategy.
  • Analyse data on the existing supply chain and commercial markets.
  • Create and maintain strategy plans with stakeholders.
  • Capture and maintain documentation for tendering purposes.
  • Identify and enact supplier development opportunities.
  • Manage categories with specific commodity expertise.
  • Participate in cross-functional efforts within CSS.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for data gathering and analysis.
  • Develop commercial product specifications.
  • Disseminate document packs for category strategy enactment.
  • Conduct supplier assessments for sound commercial and financial standing.
  • Responsible for creating document packs for categories.
  • Identify areas for cost reduction.
  • Implement continual improvement tasks with suppliers.
  • Track and report progress against Cost Base Reduction.
  • Identify suppliers with best capability to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers for customer requirements and supplier constraints.
  • Assure a disciplined approach for supplier performance metrics.
  • Identify additional opportunities and develop mutually profitable relationships with suppliers.
  • Participate in supplier scorecard reviews.
  • Support strategic supplier negotiations.

Requirements:

  • 5 years' experience in a relevant purchasing/supply chain environment.
  • Ideally educated to HND/degree level qualification in a relevant subject, MCIPS qualified or working towards.
  • Professional and ethical approach.
  • Proven ability to persuade, influence, and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Good understanding of supply chain management and procurement.
  • MS Office.
