We are seeking a highly skilled Fibre Optic Network Specialist to join our team at Svella Connect. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, splicing, and maintaining fibre optic cables to ensure the high performance and reliability of our telecommunications network.
Key Responsibilities- Install and test fibre optic cables to validate their integrity
- Perform fibre splicing and terminations to ensure seamless connectivity
- Conduct site surveys to assess installation requirements and splicing operations
- Splice and install fibre optic joints at specified locations
- Identify and resolve issues related to signal loss, fibre breaks, and other associated faults
- Provide End of Day updates and final end-to-end testing updates, including updated Service Level Descriptions (SLDs)
- Liaise with our planning team on a daily basis to ensure smooth operations
- Ensure all work is completed to the required standard when working in head ends at both Virgin Media and BT
- Completion and submission of all necessary documentation
- Compliance with all Health, Safety, Quality Control, and Environmental policies
- Full UK driving licence with a minimum of 2 years driving experience and no more than 6 points on your licence
- Previous experience working within the telecoms industry, ideally with Openreach or Virgin Media
- Experience with fusion splicing, testing, and troubleshooting of fibre optic cables
- CFOT accredited
- NRSWA (New Roads & Streetworks qualification) essential
- SA001 & SA002 - Underground/Overhead Safety qualification essential
- PIA7/PIA8 - Underground/Overhead cable and sub duct installation qualification desirable
- K009 - Rodding & Roping desirable
- Results-oriented, with the ability to meet strict quality standards
